Six suspects between the ages of 23 and 45 were arrested after failure to produce proof of ownership.

Police added that farmers should mark the livestock in accordance with the Animal Identification Act No 6 of 2002 saying court disputes are avoided when livestock is marked with registered brands as many are lost due to the failure of doing so.

The duo is set to appear in Koster Magistrate’s Court on Monday, 22 July 2024 for the possession of suspected stolen goats charge, while the six suspects will do so in Ventersdorp Magistrate’s Court on Monday 22 July 2024 for the possession of stolen property.
