A University of Western Cape student suspected for assaulting a Cape Peninsula University of Technology student is also accused of being a rapist.
In a Facebook post, Omuhle Mbulawa, a woman claiming to be the sexually assaulted victim's friend says the charges were dropped, and accused the assailant for manipulating the friend to drop the charges after he successfully convinced his victim of being the sole bread winner at home. "one of my friend when he was still in East London placed an adapter in their (friend) mouth and told them he will kill them and dump their body far where they will not be found if they do not keep quiet" Mbulawa said.
This comes a day later after the accused student is seen in one of the videos circulating on social media allegedly stabbing a female student, who is known to be his wife, multiple times in a South Point student accommodation (Orchards) in Belhar.
On the post, Mbulawa called for his possible victims to come forward with the hopes for the reopening on the rape case added on the charges he is facing.
The accused is currently hospitalized and receiving medical treatment under police watch after being attacked by students within the accommodation right after the incident occurred.
The assailant faces the charges of attempted murder and is said to appear in court next week.
