The Cape Peninsula University of Technology student political party, Economic Freedom Fighters Students'Command prioritizes student's safety for this exam season.
This follows the approval the party received for the extension of shuttle operating hours. The party released a statement raising concerns over student's safety during this period, "we call on the university to at least expand hours for the examination period, since the beginning of this week our students have been taking risks by walking risky distances at night", the party said.
The expectancy for the extension is said to be of this coming Friday, 24 May 2024 until the end of the exam season.
in a another statement released by the CPUT CSRC following their two-day meeting with the Head of Transport, Mr. Nkosa and HG Travelling Service General Manager, Mr. Daniels and the Executive Management, this inception will come with the insertion of two shuttles provided for each campus after 10 o`clock in the evening.
the statement also indicated that the operations of shuttles until midnight includes the weekends, "Starting Friday , 24th of May 2024, shuttle service will be extended until 00:00 to ensure all students have safe and reliable transportation during this critical exam time", said SRC.
According to the party, the move is of provision on their yet achieved goal of the 24-hour shuttle operations.
